My wife and I sold our home in the San Francisco Bay Area last year (Feb. 2016) and were ready to begin our search to buy a new home in San Diego, not far from where our daughter and son in law live. We asked our selling agency which real estate group they might recommend to help us find our new home – they linked us up with Ascent Real Estate (Kensington). We had planned to live in San Francisco through the end of 2016 – so our search would be “from a distance”, except for a few short visits to the SD area. Our first contact was with Scot Gentry, by phone, who proceeded to introduce
himself and immediately began working with us to know what our new home preferences were. This cordial beginning began a very cooperative team effort with Scot and his assistant. We finally met Scot a few months later, just as our ‘winnowing’ process had begun to pick up. Once we met him in person and began our search in earnest we knew he would be just the right representative for our tastes, and our home buying needs.
Scot showed us great patience from the very beginning. He was always informative, relaxed and knowledgeable about the area or home/neighborhood we might be viewing. He accommodated to our “distance-looking” requirement, and eventually led us to many great possibilities leading up to the purchase of our home in Kensington. Because of the months we spent in detailed looks, bids and changes of heart we knew we were even better prepared to “know” when the right home/price/location arose. This indeed was the case when we found, bid on, then bought, our home in Kensington – a dream-come-true.
Scot’s long-time expertise in many SD neighborhoods, knowledge of historical aspects to the kinds of homes we often wished to bid on, and ultimately his insight to the rhythm and speed of negotiations once we were in escrow all came to the fore in helping us feel assured and confident that we were making the right decisions every step of the way. With Loretta’s assistance our escrow process finished smoothly, and we found ourselves loving every part of this new home, and new adventure! We knew we were in an expert’s care as we realized that our home buying experience matched our home-sale experience: it is possible to come to a sale/purchase agreement where *both* buyer *and* seller are happy!
My wife and I cannot recommend Scot Gentry highly enough to anyone wishing to employ him in the purchase of their home. We feel we can accurately add that his expertise in helping anyone to sell their home would unfold just as professionally, smoothly and successfully!
