Home of the United States Naval Base since before World War II and nicknamed ‘The Crown City’ because of the Spanish meaning of its name. Coronado is a resort city just across the bay from Downtown San Diego. Founded in the 1880’s, Coronado is a “tied island’ connected to the mainland by a tombolo called the Silver Strand. In 2012, Coronado Beach was ranked the best beach in America by Stephen Leatherman, aka. Mr. Beach, world renowned Director of the Laboratory of Coastal Research at Florida International University. It is also home of one of the world’s Top Resorts ‘The Hotel Del’ which is listed as a National Historic Landmark! This exclusive, California Seaside community, that sits on a 32-square-mile island, has much to offer everyone. In addition to over 100 unique shops and boutiques, one of the country’s top-rated municipal golf courses, 16 miles of boardwalk, various types of boat and board rentals, art museums and much more to explore. Coronado has a quaint collection of home styles – Cape Cod, Craftsman, Spanish and even Contemporary styles are represented here.
